The Row Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
The Row was established in 2006 by Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. Focusing on quality fabrics, attention to details, and precise tailoring, the brand aims to merge aesthetics of timelessness and irreverent classic signatures. The Row’s collections have also experimented with the aesthetic of simplicity.
Former Intern - Production says"I knew this was not the place I wanted to watch to at full time when the director of production made my boss cry for no reason Didn’t learn a thing about production. I ran errands all day for every department not just production Keeps like everyone is overworked Really rude lady who would snap orders but not take the time to train the interns"
Former Intern - Anonymous Intern says"Unpaid internship, gets disrespected often. Lots of errand running. They like to dehumanize interns. During my first week there, my supervisor told me to not talk to MK&A unless they talk to me first... Clearly, not a friendly environment and some people think they're more superior than others. The latest I've worked til was 1 AM."
Former Intern - Anonymous Intern says"sit around all day no work late lunch break unpaid / no lunch stipend"
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Management is toxic and does not take personal accountability to learn from mistakes. Dysfunctional and contradictory work style which creates 10 times the amount of work for any given task."
Former Intern - Anonymous Intern says"Intense working environment on the design floor. Lack of full-time workers so hires more interns. Still overworking everyone. The hierarchy in the company is too much.."
Former Employee - Senior Technical Designer says"Culture, environment. Showrooms have all the windows and the work areas are fluorescent lit and depressing."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"No HR, half the people worked to the bone (aka incessant turnover), the other half barely does anything, company president is absolutely insane, no investment into employees-- just wants to hire anyone who worked at Celine. Too many people at the top... only leaves 5 people to do the actual work."
Former Intern - Internship says"Late hours, don't appreciate interns"
says"Work you to the bone. Send you back and forth to midtown factories multiple times a day. Too many interns at once and manager don't delegate well enough."
Design Intern says"they do not pay interns, you must pay for your own transportation and lunch, long hours. they don't hire interns. people are not that nice. they make you do a lot of pick ups and drop offs."
Studio Assistant (Freelancer) says"I was working over time every day and the management was very poor. Work life balance doesn't exist in this company. they don't expect you to take lunch breaks either.nonenone"
Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) says"I worked every night doing night with absolutely no protection what so ever. Being by yourself in the dead of night right off of the freeway in San Jose if terrifying. None of the doors, including the emergency exits, were locked from the outside leaving you AND the guests completely venerable to intruders or violent homeless people. Both of witch i dealt with multiple times and was in fear of almost every night. even after months of requesting one, we never got a night guard because the owner is too cheap! Everything is ran cheaply but in a way to give the impression of a 3 star hotel. Working here ruined my daily life and strained many relationships including friends, family and with my husband. you're constantly exhausted no matter how much sleep you get before and after your shift. I do not recommend this as a permanent or even a temporary job unless they can promise you well over 12.50 an hour, proper security, and better hours. The hours i worked were 11pm-7am for the night audit when it can be done at anytime after 7pm. I literally sat there and watched over nothing and no one because everyone would be sleeping so no one would need anything. My actually job was to fight off homeless people who would either sleep wherever they wanted inside or try to steal from the concession stand.nothing at all.the entire shift is awful from start to finish."
Bouncer/Security (Current Employee) says"The managers are VERY unprofessional. Show favoritism and has a high rate of people quitting because of thee management. They also will try to cheat u out of your hard work."
Technical Design Development Internship (Former Employee) says"The Row is a wonderful environment to intern in for those who have little experience, but the work load and stress levels are high. I would recommend an internship here for those who are willing to work harder than they already do."
Wholesale Intern (Former Employee) says"Overall, I wish I was given more responsibility during my time at The Row. Interns didn't seem to be valued as an important part of the company and therefore were often looked down upon. However, the company has high standards and sells a beautiful product and therefore needs to uphold a certain standard."
Handbag Design Intern (Former Employee) says"I was able to help out my direct boss who was a assistant designer at that time, however there was no communication at all with any other workers in the office. The office atmosphere was very dry."
